Back to School

Sterling Insurance Group’s Annual School Supplies Drive wrapped up Monday, August 27th. Today, Sterling donated a portion of supplies gathered to Helping Hands Gifts – a wonderful organization based out of Shelby Township, Michigan. The supplies we donated today will go to West Utica schools and Roseville schools, among others.

About Helping Hands

In 2017 alone, Helping Hands Gifts served more than 5,000 children in the Metro Detroit area. From Helping Hands Gift’s website:

“We CONNECT businesses with opportunities to give products or services to charities, families, and those in need.

We SUPPORT charities through finding donations, volunteers, building space, event promotion, and more.

We INFORM the public about the good that businesses and charities are doing.

In addition to our core work, we focus each year on a critical problem that impacts our local communities.

  • 2018 – Opioid Epidemic
  • 2019 – Human Trafficking
  • 2020 – Suicide”

It’s an organization Sterling is proud to partner with in the Back to School season for 2 years in a row now!

Additional Donations

The Sterling/Lappan Cares Committee was proud to donate the remaining items to one employee’s daughter’s classroom in the Greater Battle Creek area, and a classroom in Lincoln Elementary in Alpena. Thank you to all who made donations to these additional groups possible!

‘Til Next Year!

Giving back is part of our DNA at Sterling, and this donation means the world to us.

We hope this school year is great for students across Michigan!
